The Crow is a UK-based international publication, devoted to privacy, self-hosting, technology, and creative DIY approaches to problems.

Also cooking.

The site is run on a Raspberry Pi based server, physically located on top of the radiator behind the couch in my living room, along with a load of other sites and services.

The author isn’t really a bird - his name is David Rutland, he’s and all about technology and writing about it in an entertaining and accessible way - particularly FOSS, privacy, and self hosting.

He’s an NCTJ qualified print journalist, with experience working on newspapers in the UK and middle east (Sultanate of Oman). He is based in the north west of England, and have been freelancing for the last decade.

He’s legally safe, fantastic at not being sued, and generally, write fascinating and interesting articles.
